Welcome to Peninsula Lacrosse Association. We are delighted to have you register for the 2020 Boys High School Lacrosse season. The Peninsula Lacrosse Association is a growing lacrosse organization, we were established in 2014 as an independent program. We are striving to establish ourselves as one of the premier high school programs in the state and to be in the hunt for the state championship every year, as is evident by our playoff runs in the last three years (2016 - 2018). To this endeavor, while every effort will be made by coaches to DEVELOP ALL players; "game playing time" will be strictly dependent on a "Player Evaluation Matrix" developed by Head Coach Rusty Wilder. This evaluation includes but is not limited to; how "coachable" each player is, their drive and desire, practice attendance, an unparalleled work ethic, a team above self attitude, and athleticism. We hope these evaluation components do not discourage anyone from registering but rather, encourage each of you to be a part of this competitive and growing lacrosse program.
NOTICE OF AN ADDITIONAL $100 FEE FOR VARSITY PLAYERS
Please note if your player is selected for the varsity team following tryouts, then you will be responsible for an additional $100 fee to be paid prior to the first scheduled varsity game. Additionally, this additional fee does NOT represent an increase in registration fees from last year. Registration fees were $425 last year for all high school players.
Peninsula Lacrosse Association will be fielding both a varsity and a junior varsity team for the 2020 season. In the past, our league has scheduled varsity teams to play approximately 25% more games over the junior varsity teams. Although we do not know the schedules yet, we are assuming that the same will be true for the 2020 season. For this reason, Peninsula Lacrosse Association has decided to assess an additional $100 fee ($425 total registration) to those players determined to be Varsity (non-JV and non-swing) in the interest of fairness for game participation and to offset the additional league fees, referee fees, and field rental fees associated with the additional Varsity games.
Additionally, for the 2020 high school lacrosse season Peninsula Lacrosse Association will have scheduled practices and one or two games during Spring Break (April 13-17). Please plan accordingly.
Please read the below information as it will aid you in your decision to join lacrosse as well as helpful registration instructions (US LAX membership).
US Lacrosse Membership: All players must have a current US Lacrosse membership to register. The player's US Lacrosse information and the information provided to PLA must be the same to proceed in the registration process. If you are a returning player your US Lacrosse membership must be active through August 31, 2020. Renewal of membership is required prior to Registration regardless of the expiration date of your current membership (new US Lacrosse rule). Important note: Go to www.uslacrosse.org to ensure the information in your PLA registration is the same. For example if US Lacrosse membership is under Jon Smith and you attempt to register Jonathan Smith with PLA the system will not recognize that player. Date of birth and address must also match. When registering with US Lacrosse; please select "Peninsula Lacrosse Association - High School" when asked to select an organization.
Registration Confirmation: Your player is not registered without a confirmation email generated at the end of the registration process. You may exit the registration process and return to the same page at a later time. There are instructions on the confirmation email that must be adhered to ensure a position on the team. Please contact Peninsulalax@gmail.com with any questions.
High School Boys Registration: If more than 44 players register for PLA High School they will be wait listed. Tryouts will be held on the first week of practice to determine the Varsity and Jr. Varsity teams.
